The Soundtrack of Your Life

Hi, I’m Lee McIntyre...

I help senior communities bring back the music, the memories, and the joy.

I’m a former music host who believes music does more than entertain — it connects, comforts, and creates moments worth remembering.

Nostalgia. Connection. Laughter. That’s the power of music.

Music that wakes up the room — and the memories.

Laughter may be the best medicine, but it needs several doses a day. A beloved song can do something different: it can keep working for weeks. It can bring back a sweetheart, a dance floor, a family kitchen, and a favorite radio station.

Or maybe it brings back the night we were standing on the front porch with our “steady,” sharing our third or fourth goodnight kiss, when the porch light came on and we heard a stern voice through the door commanding, “Get in here now, darling. That’s enough for tonight.”
“Research has found that music can improve brain function and mental well-being, especially in older adults.”— UCLA Health 1
“Music offers a medium through which older people can re-connect with their youth, experience vitality and feel empowered.”— Creech et al., cited by University of Chicago Crown Family School 2
“Even just listening to your favorite songs can give your brain a healthy boost.”— UCLA Health 1

For Senior Communities

I bring warm, engaging one- to two-hour programs to age 55+ communities, assisted living centers, church groups, retirement communities, community seniors, and city parks and recreation program planners.

1940s–1960s Favorites

The music I play is tailored to the typical age of your group. And I bring only the original hits by the original artists — from big-band memories through early rock and roll and the golden years of radio pop.

Stories, Smiles & Requests

Depending on your needs, Your Music Memories offers programs that can include audience special requests, opportunities for your members to share particular song memories, or trivia contests based on the era, with small prizes we provide, and it all comes with the gentle humor that kept Inland Empire morning listeners smiling for three decades.

Sweet melodies and warm memories can brighten lives far longer than the music itself. A familiar song can spark laughter, conversation, recognition, and joy that linger long after the final notes fade away — bringing back lasting miles of smiles and warm memories.

And oh, the clothes they wore and the slang they used!

What was your clothing stock in trade when you were growing up? What slang did you use that perplexed your parents? Were you part of The In Crowd?

The Fabulous ’40s

Zoot suits, high-waisted trousers, wide legs, and pegged cuffs. If that was you, then you were just dandy or neat.

Folks were dancing the Jitterbug or the Foxtrot.

The Happy Days ’50s

Gals in poodle skirts or pedal pushers. Guys with crewcuts, white T-shirts, and canvas sneakers. Kids said you were cool or hip.

The Jive, the Twist, and the Stroll helped keep the floor moving.

The Groovy ’60s

Polished mod minimalism gave way to freewheeling, expressive, do-your-own-thing, man, tie-dyed style. Everyone knew you were far out and groovy.

The decade welcomed the Watusi and Go-Go.

The Flashy ’70s and Beyond

Polyester suits, boho bell-bottoms, wide collars, denim jeans, and disco-driven flair. Later came power dressing, grunge, streetwear, and more ways to look totally awesome, wicked, or dope.

From Funky Street Styles to Breakdancing, Pop-and-Lock, the Cabbage Patch, and Freestyle Hip-Hop, every generation had its moves.

And it seems all the changes happened in a flash—between Frontierland and Tomorrowland, in less time than it took Richard Harris to sing his seven-minute tribute to “MacArthur Park” in 1968.

Whether your favorite oldies are from the ’40s, ’50s, or ’60s, you and those you provide entertainment for are in for a truly enriching time of sweet melodies and warm memories when you book a Your Music Memories program for morning, noon, or evening.

A lifetime behind the microphone.

As a Happiness Consultant, I’ve been creating musical programs since early childhood, when my “studio” was my first record player, and I made up stories to tell my toys about the tunes. What began in the Truman administration became a high-school radio debut, two college degrees in radio broadcasting and communications, and a lifetime of playing the songs and often sharing the stories behind the songs, just like the announcers I revered on KFI, back in the ’50s.

Are you old enough to remember NBC’s Weekend Monitor, heard on many NBC affiliates across the US of A, in that wonderful decade?

From radio mornings to musical memories.

For decades, I had the privilege of sharing music, stories, encouragement, and a friendly morning voice with Inland Empire listeners. That same radio-trained warmth now shapes every Your Music Memories program.

Still bringing the music to the room.
